Harmony Science Academy a Gulen Charter School

Harmony Science Academy in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico are under the Cosmos Foundation. The Cosmos Foundation ran by Turkish Nationals who are known members of the Gulen Movement have abused many state and federal laws. Cosmos is the largest abuser of H1-B Visas for foreign teachers than the largest school district in America. Scratch your head and wonder why the Gulen Movement is getting away with reverse discrimination? Texas money crosses over state lines to support the other Gulen Managed charter schools, this is WRONG!! Proposed Gulen Charter School (Harmony Science) for Washington DC, has a prospective board member STEP DOWN

As reported in our article following this one about Salim Sharif and the scandal at a school he had to resign from.  Soner Tarim of Harmony Texas has replaced Salim with another board member.

The DC School district is to vote this week on whether to approve the school.  Based on Soner Tarim's poor business decisions and lack of oversight on this Washington DC school.  There are too many questions that are left unanswered at this point, especially about where Texas money fits into this latest Gulen Movement scam.

In the usual predictable nature, the Gulenists have responded to the article in the typical "happy parents" from Texas that just happened to stroll by a Washington DC Article.  The words and comments are the same now as they have been for 4 years.

Gulenists, you work way too hard to cover up the obvious.

Harmony Charter vote set for next week; appplicant group replaces one member

By Emma Brown, Published: November 13

The D.C. Public Charter School Board will vote next week on whether to allow Harmony Public Schools to open its doors in the District next fall, amid questions about its leadership and business practices.

Harmony, the largest charter-school operator in Texas, has a solid academic record but faces lingering questions about its contracting and immigration policies, as well as allegations of connections to a controversial Muslim cleric.

There has also been a recent change in the group that would lead the effort to establish the D.C. school. A member of the group who has been involved in a controversy in Prince George’s County school system resigned in late October, and has been replaced, Harmony’s superintendent told the Washington Post in an interview.

In its application, the charter network listed three members of the D.C. founding group: Harmony Superintendent Soner Tarim, Communications Director Julie Norton and local educator Sharif Salim.

Salim, a former administrator in D.C. Public Schools, was co-founder and principal of Village Learning Center, a D.C. public charter school that was closed in 2004 for fiscal mismanagement and other problems.

Salim went on to work for Prince George’s County Public Schools, according to the resume submitted as part of Harmony’s charter application.

According to county court records, Salim was demoted in 2011 from his position as a middle-school principal after an employee at his school — who was also his son — admitted to hitting a disabled student. Salim has sued the school system, alleging that he was the victim of discrimination because he was the only practicing Muslim among the county’s public school principals.

Neither Salim nor his lawyer responded to requests for comment.

Asked about Salim’s work history, Tarim said Salim resigned from the founding group in late October “for personal reasons.” Tarim said that he met Salim at a conference last year and was impressed with his reputation in the community, but was unaware of the details of Salim’s past employment.

Tarim said he had identified a new member of the founding group, a lawyer for the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools, an advocacy group. The lawyer, Renita Thukral, could not be immediately reached for comment.

Gulen Charter School in Texas submits application for a charter school in Washington DC - Dr. Soner Tarim

Sharif Salim M.ed is listed on page 393 of the charter application as a board member of the proposed Harmony School of Excellence in Washington DC.

Salim has taught Ancient History, in the D.C. Public School System, and served as Acting Principal of Theodore Roosevelt High School from 1987 through 1992. He also founded the Muslim Community School in 1980, which is located in Potomac, Maryland. The school offers Pre-K through grade twelve, and at its peak, student enrollment reached 400.

MORE ON SHARIF SALIM M. ed (African American Muslim Convert) at the end of this post.
Soner Tarim, Superintendant of Gulen “inspired” Harmony Charter Schools in Texas, has boldly tried to file an application for a charter school in Washington, DC.  Here is the application:
The proposed Gulen operated charter school in DC will be called Harmony School of Excellence.  Are we to assume that Texas money will cross state lines into Washington DC?  Gulenist supporter Sharif Salim M.Ed on page 393 appears as a “Board member of this proposed school” (see below for more on Salim)
Page 11, lists “Bridgespan” as giving the “seed money” to open this school. Which you can bet is another newly created Turkish investment group much like the TruGlobe that purchased the defaulted property in Atlanta where Fulton Science Academy (lost their charter mandate and now is a private school) is located. Not a bad deal, The school and their Grace Institute, defaulted on a $19 million loan to Wells Fargo, then TruGlobe purchased the property back on the courthouse steps auction for a mere $3 million. Pocketing the $16 million
Perhaps the DC Unified school district should read up on Dr. Soner Tarim (Marine Biologist) and learn of his admitted ties to Gulen and how Gulen inspires him. Tarim was outed in the New York Times for anti-American activities of preferential treatment and favoritism of Turkish businesses and contracts. Their preferential hiring of h1-b Visa Teachers (Male from Turkic countries) over Americans has cost jobs and further economic woes for Texas Taxpayers.
The Gulen Movement is embedded with American politics, and in Washington DC their mother lobbying group is Rumi Forum and Faruk Taban with the Turkic American Council which sponsors dinners and business forums with Congress members with Turkic countries.
*Sharif Salim M.ed
Sharif is a black muslim convert who grew up on the mean streets of Washington DC and has mentored many troubled black youth especially in the world of boxing.
More about Sarif Salim here:
More on Sharif Salim or Saarif Salim, it appears while he was principal at yet another school in DC, one of the teachers was charged with assault on a student.  Salim shortly left the school on a “leave” it is unclear if this is the same “SALIM” or if he left voluntarily.
The Gulenists have once again latched on to a minority and no doubt sniffed out the federal and state money available for developing schools in impoverished areas with high African American students.
Interview with Sharif Salim as the manager of Boxer Seth Mitchell:
“Salim, a D.C. resident who was a school principal and now opens charter schools, touts boxing as an avenue to prosperity, or at the least a platform to build character and heart. He sees enough technique and ample character and heart in Mitchell, enough of all of that to gain revenge on Banks.”
