Harmony Science Academy a Gulen Charter School

Harmony Science Academy in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico are under the Cosmos Foundation. The Cosmos Foundation ran by Turkish Nationals who are known members of the Gulen Movement have abused many state and federal laws. Cosmos is the largest abuser of H1-B Visas for foreign teachers than the largest school district in America. Scratch your head and wonder why the Gulen Movement is getting away with reverse discrimination? Texas money crosses over state lines to support the other Gulen Managed charter schools, this is WRONG!! Harmony Science Academy turned into Child Protective Services for child endangerment punishment

CARROLLTON — Harmony Science Academy has banned using a certain exercise as punishment after a parent said their child was injured.
A parent whose child attends the Carrollton school contacted News 8 about the incident. Harmony Science Academy is a public charter school.
Gloria Martinez said all of the students in a seventh grade physical education class were forced to do bear crawls last week because some students in the class were misbehaving.
Wednesday morning, she said she was not completely satisfied with the school's response. She believes what the teacher did is a form of child abuse.
Martinez provided pictures of her 12-year-old daughter's hands. She said she came home with blisters after doing the bear crawls on a soccer field that is under construction. Martinez said the field was dotted with gravel and rocks and the pain was so severe that her daughter was in tears afterward.
"She actually was found crying in the bathroom, distraught, "said Martinez. "That's when another student told her she needed to go to the nurse."  Martinez claimed her daughter could not do her homework and received a failing grade because of it. She also said her daughter was not one of the students misbehaving in class. She believes the teacher should face some sort of punishment.
"I feel like he should be suspended. This is too harsh of a punishment to be put on a bunch of 12-year-olds to make them crawl across the hot ground, "she said.
Martinez said she even called Child Protective Services to report the incident and said if a parent had done the same thing they would be investigated for abuse.
One other student also had similar injuries.

Private Putnam Turkish school was associated with Harmony Science Academy

Even though the schools and the Gulen Movement tries to deny this, they are all interrelated.

Gulen Harmony charter Schools under scrutiny in Texas

AUSTIN, Texas (Texas News Service) — U.S. taxpayers have invested more than $3.7 billion in charter schools over the last two decades, but according to a new report from the Center for Media and Democracy, the public has been kept mostly in the dark as to how that money is spent. Sandy Theis is executive director of Progress Ohio, a coalition member of the Charter School Accountability Project. She says unlike public schools, whose budgets are subject to democratically elected school boards, charter spending has become a black hole. “What we’ve seen nationally is that charter schools in Texas and in a lot of other states have not fulfilled the promise,” says Theis. “Their academic performance is pretty bad, and they do a magnificent job of wasting taxpayer money.” Charter advocates argue less oversight on budgets and performance encourages innovation and flexibility. But as a result of lax policy, Theis says charters with poor academic performance – even schools under investigation for fraud – continue to operate at the public’s expense. One charter group drawing increased scrutiny in Texas is Harmony Public Schools, with 46 campuses serving more than 28,000 students in Austin, Dallas, Houston, Fort Worth and San Antonio. Theis says Harmony is affiliated with Gulen charters, which has been the subject of federal and municipal criminal investigations for immigration fraud and financial mismanagement. “There is a mountain of evidence that shows they tamper with their tests,” she says. “They have serious questions about the qualifications of their teachers, and their schools don’t perform academically. They fail to meet the basic mission, and that’s educating our kids.” According to Theis, Gulen schools operate in 26 states, educate 50,000 students and collect $150 million in taxpayer funds every year. Theis says she’s hopeful the new report will spur Texas authorities to pay more attention to charters so future taxpayer dollars don’t fall into the wrong hands. - See more at: http://www.orangeleader.com/2015/11/04/texas-charter-schools-under-scrutiny/#sthash.m7EzofK0.dpuf

Harmony Science Academy Lubbock closes High School Gulen School

A Lubbock charter school is closing its high school's doors.

Harmony Science Academy, will no longer be a K through 12 school as of next year.
Current juniors and seniors will have the option to stay at Harmony through graduation, but 9th and 10th graders will have to enroll at other Lubbock schools.

Julie Norton, Director of Communications for Harmony said the decision is due to a lack of enrollment and the need to strengthen the elementary and middle school programs.

"At Harmony public schools it's a top priority for us to make sure that we are offering students a really robust program. So we really will be able to spend more resources and energy focusing on our K8 programs and it will allow us to be able to expand the K8 programs as well," Norton said.

Norton said no teachers will lose their job, and the high school educators will be reassigned to the lower grades.
