Harmony to build new school in North Brownsville
Harmony Public Schools has broken ground on a new school at 3451 Dana Road
to be called Harmony School of Innovation and serve sixth- through 12th-grade students.

Like all Harmony schools, the new campus will specialize in instruction in the STEM

Harmony officials said they had a waiting list of 800 students wanting to study at the
new school, which has a capacity of 600 students. The Harmony School of Innovation
is scheduled to open for the 2017-2018 school year.

HarmonyScienceAcademy--Brownsville, 1124 Central Blvd., will continue to serve
pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade students. After the new school opens,
Harmony will be able to expand programs for the younger students, school officials said.

HarmonyScienceAcademy -- Brownsville has been in operation for nine years.
It earned all seven state distinctions for academic performance in 2016.
The school’s first graduating class received diplomas in 2013.
